The Miami School of Fashion made a splash during Swim Week where it was part of Paraiso Miami Beach, the world’s largest event for the Swimwear and Resort Wear industry.

As part of an upcycling challenge in partnership with Paraiso, students were matched with five swimwear brands Camila Balleste with @bondibornaustralia, Amelie Onate with Beach Riot Liran Tal with Chromat Marco Lugo with Maaji and Marissa Mercado with Gigi C, during which they documented their mentoring sessions, pattern making, and design processes.

On Friday they presented their designs along with alumni at Paraiso Miami Beach fashion show where a panel of industry judges selected fashion design student Camila Balleste as the challenge winner.

The school is grateful to Paraiso for the opportunity and is very proud of students for their hard work and dedication to this project, we can’t wait to see what next year brings!
